In short: all Tapedesign shin guards are one size – no size to choose. For kids we recommend the Mini PRO or the FLEX Mini. We recommend the Performance 2.0 from teenage years.
The models at a glance
- Mini PRO – 13 × 8 cm, 21 g. Small, light and ready to use. Fits kids to pros.
- FLEX Mini – small and flexible, moves with you. For kids and teens.
- Performance 2.0 – 16.5 × 10 cm, only 2 mm thin, mouldable with a hairdryer. From teenage years.
- Sleeve KIDS – 3-in-1: shin guard with padded insert in a compression sleeve, stays in place without tape.
What to look for with kids
- Comfort: if it pinches, it won't be worn. Kids accept light, flexible shin guards more easily.
- Small enough: the shin guard should protect the shin without hitting the knee or the top of the foot.
- Under the sock: in matches, shin guards must be covered by the socks.
How do the shin guards stay in place?
Mini PRO, FLEX Mini and Performance 2.0 sit under your football sock, under Tubes or with grip tape. The Sleeve KIDS stays in place on its own thanks to compression and its silicone edge.
And the matching socks?
Tapedesign Kids grip socks are available for EU 30–36. From EU 37, Classic and Superlight fit (one size 37–48). Shop Kids products
Do small shin guards protect enough?
Every shin guard protects up to a certain level of physical play – no shin guard can guarantee complete protection against injury. If you want more coverage, choose the Performance 2.0 from teenage years.
